Mayor, Environmental Activists Voice Opposition to Safe Harbor Energy LNG Proposal

Jo-Ann Kalaka-Adams, mayor of Sea Bright, N.J., and representatives of local environmental groups held a press conference announcing their opposition to the Safe Harbor Energy LNG regasification terminal proposal. The environmental activists shared Gov. Jon Corzine’s (D-N.J.) position that New Jersey ought to be granted “adjacent coastal state” status under the Deepwater Port Act regarding the project, which would be located 19 miles from New Jersey.
