Editorial: LNG Terminal Regulatory Process Flawed
An editorial in yesterday’s Daily Astorian argues that the process by which LNG regasification terminals receive federal, state, and local regulatory approval is flawed because it creates a “horse race” among terminal developers, and does not focus on siting terminals in the most appropriate place. The piece goes on to argue that other regions have embraced LNG terminal projects, so those projects proposed for the Pacific Northwest ought to relocate to more amenable locations.
