Canadian Foreign Minister Says Government Considering Ban on LNG Vessels in Head Harbour

Maxime Bernier, recently appointed as Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, told the Save Passamaquoddy Bay group that the Canadian government will consider regulations prohibiting LNG tankers from transiting the Head Harbour Passage to reach two proposed LNG regasification terminal sites in the United States. Bernier also reiterated Canada’s position that the Passage is internal Canadian waters. Read more in The Globe and Mail.
