Some Local Residents Skeptical of Destination of LNG Imported to American Northwest
The Oregonian reports that some local residents are skeptical of the final destination of LNG supplies that would arrive at one of the planned LNG regasification terminals proposed for the Pacific Northwest. These local residents claim that Washington and Oregon may lose out on the benefits of the proposal in favor of the California gas market, citing plans for the Palomar gas line and a line proposed by its competitor, the Oregon Pipeline Co. Officials from the pipeline development companies contend that the majority of the gas imports would be used in Oregon and Washington State.
