Op-Ed Offers Cautious Support for Quebec LNG Projects

An Op-Ed carried by the Globe and Mail states that barring a dramatic decline in energy consumption, the Gros Cacouna and Rabaska LNG proposals near Quebec, Canada, are tolerable alternatives to other hydrocarbon fuels. Also, the Op-Ed suggests that importing LNG will allow Alberta to sell some of its hydroelectric power to Ottawa and U.S. markets, decreasing their reliance on coal and oil.
