Environmental Groups Active Against Cabrillo Port LNG Say They Will Not Be as Involved in Oceanway LNG Process

The Malibu Surfside News reports that two environmental groups, the Environmental Defense Center (EDC) and the California Coastal Protection Network (CCPN), say that their activity in the Oceanway LNG permitting process will be curtailed compared with their role opposing the Cabrillo Port LNG proposal. EDC attorney Linda Krop said “[The Oceanway LNG] proposal is out of our service area,” while CCPN director Susan Jordan noted that two other LNG regasification projects, NorthernStar Natural Gas’ Clearwater Port and Esperenza Energy’s Port Esperenza, will soon start the permitting process, straining the group’s resources.
