Pipeline Project from Canaport LNG to Employ Local Labor
The New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal reports that the pipeline construction project to connect the Canaport LNG terminal to the American border will require approximately 1,000 workers, most of whom will come from nearby communities. Construction of the pipeline is scheduled to commence in November 2007 and last for one year. The president of the Saint John Construction Association said that many of the local construction workers have the necessary experience from a similar project, the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline, which was constructed in the same area only eight years ago.
