Gary Bischof, president of Canaport LNG, cited U.S. consumers’ demand for natural gas as the motivating factor for pursuing the Canaport LNG project to be located outside Saint John, New Brunswick. Bischof also noted New Brunswick’s proximity to the world’s gas and oil supply make it a more attractive destination than the U.S. Gulf Coast.
