Rhode Island State House Passes LNG Transport Emergency Response Plan Bill
In a general legislative wrap-up, the Providence Journal reports that the Rhode Island state House passed House Bill No. 6482, proposed by Rep. Raymond Gallison (D-Bristol), which would require any emergency response plan for the transport of LNG through Narragansett Bay or Mount Hope Bay to receive approval from the General Assembly and the coastal communities along the tanker route prior to implementation. The bill has been moved to the state Senate for consideration.
