Petro-Canada Talking with Geographically Diverse Suppliers for Gros Cacouna LNG Project

Dow Jones Energy Service (carried via LexisNexis, subscription required) reports on Petro-Canada executive vice president Peter Kallos saying that the company is pursuing LNG supplies from sources other than Russia, including Algeria, Trinidad, and the Persian Gulf, for its Gros Cacouna LNG facility. However, Kallos maintained that Russia’s Gazprom remains the top candidate, saying, “[t]he discussions with Gazprom have been going through for quite sometime [and] we would like to make it work. We’re not getting tired of waiting.”
