Experts: LDCs May Not Immediately Sign Long-Term Contracts

Platts LNG Daily reports that a panel of experts at the LNG North American Summit 2007 predicted that U.S. local distribution companies (LDCs), though pressured by LNG terminal developers and gas suppliers, would be hesitant to enter into any long-term agreements to distribute gas imported as LNG. One VP of an LDC said that local distributors see LNG as just another source of gas and will not see a need anytime soon to enter into long-term deals. [Subscription required]
