Excelerate Begins Paying Mitigation Funds

Gloucester Daily Times reports that Excelerate Energy LLC has distributed almost all of the $23.5 million in mitigation funds required by Massachusetts as a condition for approving construction of Excelerate’s offshore LNG receiving terminal. Excelerate VP told the paper that the funds were paid prior to construction. Suez LNG agreed to a mitigation package related to its approved Neptune LNG terminal offshore Massachusetts as well, but those funds have not yet been distributed.
