Dow Chemical Anticipates Greater Liquefaction Capacity Worldwide
The CEO of Dow Chemical Company, Andrew Liveris, announced that Dow would wait to secure long-term supply contracts for its stake in the Freeport LNG terminal until additional LNG liquefaction facilities come online. Liveris told Reuters that after early 2008 Dow will be able to take advantage of a supply-demand imbalance in LNG, which he predicts will occur as a result of more liquefaction plants being built than regasification terminals.
