A Baltimore County spokesperson said that he expects AES to continue to seek state and federal approval for its proposed Sparrows Point LNG terminal along the Chesapeake Bay coast, despite a recent U.S. District Court opinion upholding a Baltimore County ordinance prohibiting the construction of LNG terminals on or near sensitive coastal areas of the Chesapeake Bay. AES has not yet said publicly whether it will appeal the court’s decision, confirming only that appeal is one of a “panoply of options.” The Maryland Daily Record (carried via Energy Central Professional) offers additional coverage.
