Activists Urge Gov. Spitzer to Oppose Broadwater LNG Terminal
Newsday reports that anti-Broadwater activists met with legislators and the state’s deputy secretary for the environment in Albany, N.Y., yesterday to urge opposition to the proposed terminal. New York Governor Eliot Spitzer (D) acknowledged that he had heard their message and remained undecided. Gov. Spitzer told the press, “[w]hat you look at, at the end of the day, is the environmental impact, the security impact, the energy impact. These are issues that are critical to the state and the basis on which I will make a decision.”
