LIPA CEO: Broadwater May Not Benefit Electric Ratepayers
Newsday reports that Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) chief executive Richard Kessel said that benefits from the Broadwater proposal will not be as great for Long Islanders as other electricity consumers. Kessel, citing an unreleased report on economic impacts of the Broadwater LNG proposal, said that “if Long Island is going to house [the Broadwater LNG terminal], Long Island should get the major share of the benefits from it.” Kessel said he hopes the report will be released by the end of June.
