Eastport Officials Express Concerns Regarding Quoddy Bay LNG Site to Governor, Congress

In letters to Maine’s governor and Congressional delegation, the City of Eastport, Maine, set forth its concerns about Quoddy Bay LNG’s LNG terminal project proposed for the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay. The city indicated that it does not oppose LNG generally but  has concerns with Quoddy Bay’s project because its operations would disrupt life in the city. The city specifically raised concern that the proximity of Route 190 to the proposed site might lead to the highway’s closure, which it says would effectively cut the city off from the mainland. Bangor Daily News provides further coverage.
