Cabrillo Port Proposal Rejected by State Lands Commission

California’s State Lands Commission voted to deny BHP Billiton’s proposal to develop an LNG terminal offshore near Oxnard. The panel’s three members voted 2-1 to deny the company a lease and refused to certify the environmental impact report for the project. The Ventura County Star also reports that approximately 2,000 people demonstrated against the proposal outside the day-long hearing.
