Washington State Lawmakers Oppose Bradwood Landing Project
Three Washington state legislators have joined U.S. Rep. Brian Baird (D-Wash.) in opposing NorthernStar Natural Gas’ proposed Bradwood Landing LNG terminal. “[T]he security and safety problems identified in the Coast Guard’s preliminary report, effects on shipping and recreation, eminent domain issues, and environmental risks outweigh any potential economic benefits,” Sen. Brian Hatfield and Reps. Dean Takko and Brian Blake said in a joint statement released Thursday. NorthernStar’s senior vice president for external affairs told The Daily News (Longview, Wash.) that the company will address the concerns raised by stakeholders with an advertising campaign.
