New Jersey Town Offers to Host LNG Facility

A Pennsville, N.J. committeeman has proposed that BP build its Crown Landing LNG facility in the town instead of building the facility north of Pennsville in Logan Township. Thomas Strong said Pennsville would dredge a channel inland and allow the developer to avoid the jurisdictional dispute pending before the Supreme Court between New Jersey and Delaware. A spokesman for BP Crown Landing said that the company is currently focusing its efforts on making the project succeed in Logan Township. The Courier-Post has details.

[Clarification: LNGLawBlog notes that The Courier-Post inaccurately identifies Thomas Strong as the mayor of Pennsville Township.]
