Longview City Council Member to Introduce Resolution Opposing Bradwood Landing
A member of the City Council in Longview, Wash., plans to introduce a resolution within the next few weeks opposing NorthernStar Natural Gas’ proposed LNG terminal in Bradwood Landing, Ore. Noting that the terminal would adversely impact the city and region, Councilwoman Mary Jane Melink said, “We want FERC to understand that not everybody is welcoming these guys with open arms.” She added that the resolution will be similar to a March 5 statement issued by Rep. Brian Baird (D-Wash.) against the proposal. In response, NorthernStar’s vice president of external affairs asserted that the project complies with required legal and safety standards. The Daily News (Longview, Wash.) has the story.
