Noting the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners’ recent decision to reject Sound Energy Solutions’ proposed LNG terminal, a former Stanford professor writes in support of the development of LNG infrastructure in California to meet increasing consumer demand for natural gas. He explains how, in his view, public policy is such that importing natural gas from overseas is the most viable solution to staving off an energy shortage.
