Nova Scotia Environmental Assessment Board Issues Report on Maple LNG Project
The Nova Scotia Environmental Assessment Board has recommended that the Nova Scotia Minister of Environment and Labour approve the Maple LNG terminal and petrochemical plant facilities proposed for construction in Goldboro, Nova Scotia, subject to conditions included in the Board’s Final Report. The Board noted that “consideration of provincial policy relating to sustainability is beyond the scope of the Panel review of this project,” and recommended that “the Minister determine whether the [project] is environmentally sustainable.” Friday’s Platts LNG Daily offers additional coverage.
