Anadarko Petroleum Mothballs Bear Head LNG Terminal Project in Nova Scotia
Anadarko Petroleum CFO Al Walker told financial analysts Tuesday that it has written off its investment in the Bear Head LNG project in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Having struggled to secure natural gas supply for the terminal, the company is in the process of mothballing the project, which was already under construction and due to open in 2008. Strait Area Chamber of Commerce president Dan Fougere has expressed hope that another company would undertake “some type of petrochemical development at the Bear Head site.” The Chronicle Herald and The Cape Breton Post have details.
