Quoddy Bay LNG Advisory Committee on Ballot in Perry
In a town referendum planned for March, residents of Perry, Maine will have the opportunity to decide whether to approve the establishment of an advisory committee to outline the town’s objectives regarding the proposed Quoddy Bay LNG terminal. Jeanne Guisinger, a member of the Perry Board of Selectmen who opposes the Quoddy Bay project, expressed disappointment that the matter will not be raised at a town meeting, which she said would encourage “open discussion.”
Separately, the Chairman of the Selectmen said on Tuesday that he submitted a reimbursement request to Quoddy Bay LNG for the town’s legal fees. Two prior requests totaling $18,000 were paid by the developer and a third request for $6000 was approved in December. The Bangor Daily News has further details.
