Maritimes & Northeast Seeks Permit for Pipeline Expansion Project

The Army Corps of Engineers is accepting comments until Jan. 19 on Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline’s request for a permit that would allow the company to fill roughly one acre of Maine wetlands. The work is associated with the Maritimes Phase VI Project, which would triple the capacity of the existing pipeline that runs from Nova Scotia to Massachusetts. The expansion is intended to enable M&NP to transport natural gas from the proposed Bear Head and Keltic LNG terminals in Nova Scotia. The Bangor Daily News has the story.
