Former Calpine Official Eager to Begin FERC Review Process for Skipanon Project
Former Calpine Corp. liquefied natural gas project developer Peter Hansen, the incoming CEO of the Leucadia subsidiary developing Skipanon LNG, has expressed optimism that the proposed project will soon enter FERC’s pre-filing process following the purchase of a land lease that will be used to build the terminal. “Now we can focus on permitting instead of focusing on the company’s ability or lack of ability to move the project forward,” he said. Hansen also noted that the Skipanon project’s favorable location and zoning approvals may obviate the need for the Bradwood Landing project, which is located 20 miles east of Astoria.
