Disagreement Over Broadwater’s Projected Savings to Consumers
The Connecticut Post reports on a disagreement between critics and proponents of the proposed Broadwater LNG terminal in Long Island Sound regarding the project’s potential savings to consumers. “Broadwater Energy’s claim that their facility will save citizens $300 to $400 per household are based on reports that are outdated and misrepresented,” said the legal affairs director for Save the Sound, an environmental organization opposed to the Broadwater project. However, the chief of staff for the New England Council says that the terminal’s proximity to population centers would help consumers save money. [Access to archived articles requires a fee.]
