Port of Coos Bay Hosts Demonstration on LNG Risks

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay yesterday hosted an educational session that gave attendees, including firefighters and state officials, an opportunity to learn more about the properties of LNG, as well as its safety and security risks. A consultant for Jordan Cove Energy, the company that is seeking to develop an LNG terminal in Coos Bay, Ore., said that LNG is safe as long as associated risks are properly managed. According to KCBY, the presentation also featured a flammability test demonstrating that natural gas burns cleaner than other fuels.
