Op-ed: NorthernStar’s Salmon Mitigation Plan Does Not Enhance Existing Protection
A member of the local environmental group Columbia Riverkeeper argues that NorthernStar Natural Gas’ plan to mitigate potential adverse impacts on salmon from the proposed Bradwood Landing LNG terminal offers little more protection than pre-existing programs. She contends that most of NorthernStar’s proposed financial commitment of up to $59 million over approximately 30 years would be spent on compliance with current salmon protection and water quality laws. Her op-ed is carried by The Daily Astorian.
