Long Beach Mayor Opposes Sound Energy Solutions Proposed LNG Terminal
The mayor of Long Beach, Calif., yesterday confirmed his opposition to Sound Energy Solutions’ (SES) LNG terminal proposed for the Port of Long Beach, citing public safety concerns and SES’ refusal to protect the city and the port from lawsuits that might be brought in the event of an LNG-related accident. His comments were in response to a letter from the Harbor Commission’s president requesting clarification on the city’s stance regarding the proposal. The Long Beach Press-Telegram and Long Beach Report provide further coverage.
