Fishermen Planning Lawsuit Over Offshore Massachusetts LNG Terminals
The Salem News reports that local fishermen, unhappy with the compensation packages offered by LNG developers Excelerate Energy and Suez Energy and concerned about the impact from two proposed offshore terminals, are considering filing a lawsuit. The fishermen say the proposed Northeast Gateway LNG and Neptune LNG terminals will harm the fishing industry and complain that packages offered to offset potential adverse impacts from the proposed terminals will give money to the wrong people. Northeast Gateway maintains that it has offered more money than needed to compensate for potential losses.
