Downeast LNG Submits Application to FERC
The Bangor Daily News reports that Downeast LNG on Friday filed an application with FERC to site an LNG terminal in Robbinston, Maine, one week after rival developer Quoddy Bay LNG submitted its application to construct a terminal in Pleasant Point, Maine. Downeast LNG president Dean Girdis noted that Downeast LNG has already received local permits from Robbinston and has submitted most of the paperwork necessary for the state to complete its review. He also indicated that demand for natural gas in New England would support the project even if two terminals offshore Massachusetts are constructed.
