AES Official Addresses Public Concerns Related to Sparrows Point Proposal

In an interview with The Dundalk Eagle, Kent Morton, the project director for AES’ proposed Sparrows Point LNG terminal, discussed issues facing the project and responded to safety and environmental concerns that have been raised by opponents of the project. Morton explained how the site was selected, noting that AES is challenging a local law prohibiting construction of an LNG plant within 5 miles of any residential area, and guaranteed that no LNG tanker will explode in the harbor.  He also discussed the potential impact of the project on the local economy, and responded to other concerns raised by local opposition.
