Op-ed: California Should Opt for Renewable Energy Sources Over LNG Imports

Cameron Benson criticizes The Sacramento Bee’s support for the proposed importation of LNG in California, saying that importing fossil fuels would raise greenhouse gas levels.  Benson suggests that the California Energy Commission has ignored anticipated supply from Alaska and Baja California, Mexico, and that increasing the development of renewable energy sources as required by California’s 2005 Energy Action Plan will further reduce the demand for LNG from BHP Billiton’s proposed LNG terminal offshore California.  His op-ed is carried by The Sacramento Bee.
