Op-ed: Proposed Battery Rock Terminal Threatens Public Safety
An attorney for the Conservation Law Foundation opposes Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Kerry Healey’s original position on AES’ proposed Battery Rock LNG terminal, asserting that the import facility would pose a danger to a nearby high school, recreational areas, and shipping lanes. Last week, Healey described Battery Rock as the “least problematic [proposed terminal] from a public safety standpoint, ” but later announced that she would not sign legislation, if passed, approving the project. The Patriot Ledger carries the op-ed.
