Sempra and ProLiance Subsidiaries Purchase Natural Gas Storage
Subsidiaries of Sempra Energy and ProLiance Energy jointly have purchased from Dominion three salt caverns in Louisiana having between 10 and 12 Bcf of natural gas storage capacity. “This area in Louisiana is strategically located to capture natural gas storage opportunities as natural gas infrastructure continues to be added in the Gulf Coast region,” said George Liparidis, president of Sempra Pipelines & Storage. Sempra and ProLiance also are completing construction on the Liberty Gas Storage project in Calcasieu Parish, La. Both storage facilities are located near Sempra’s Cameron and Port Arthur LNG terminals, which are under construction and approved by FERC, respectively. Here is Sempra’s press release.
