N.S. Premier: Emera Pipeline May Impact LNG Projects in Nova Scotia
The Globe and Mail reports on concerns regarding the route for Emera Inc.’s proposed Brunswick Pipeline from the Canaport LNG terminal in New Brunswick. The pipeline will deliver gas from the terminal directly to the U.S. border where it will interconnect with Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline. Expressing concern for proposed Nova Scotian LNG terminals, Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald has asserted that the pipeline may have a negative impact on rates charged by the Maritimes & Northeast pipeline in Canada because delivery directly to the U.S. border will mean less gas flowing on M&NP in Canada. However, a spokesperson for both pipelines says that there will be demand for supply from the Canaport LNG terminal and the Nova Scotia facilities. [Access to archived articles requires a fee.]
