The Beaumont Enterprise reports on the Golden Pass LNG Construction Commencement Ceremony celebrated by community members, political leaders, and representatives from Golden Pass LNG and Qatar Petroleum yesterday in Sabine Pass, Texas. “I’m looking forward to the first gas celebration in 2009,” said John Plugge, Golden Pass LNG president. Qatar Petroleum director I.B. Ibrahim added that Sabine Pass is an ideal location for the terminal because of its proximity to the Sabine-Neches Waterway and the support of local residents.
However, some residents are concerned that the terminal may adversely impact real estate values and public safety. KBTV 4, the local NBC affiliate for Beaumont, Texas, has that story.
