Global Competition Impedes Growth of U.S. LNG Industry

Increasing global competition for LNG is hindering the development of a robust U.S. LNG industry, according to a speaker at the Interchange Energy Group’s LDC Forum in Chicago held this week. “Molecules flow to dollars,” James W. Duncan, director of Structured Products for ConocoPhillips Gas & Power said, referring to Spain’s high natural gas prices that attracted a large number of shipments last summer.
