Fall River City Council Members Oppose Eminent Domain
A resolution that calls on the city of Fall River to seize the Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal site using eminent domain has received scant support from some City Council members, according to The Herald News. Councilor Bradford L. Kilby argues that any effort to exercise eminent domain would be futile because “we as a city really have no argument at all.” If Fall River City Council President William F. Whitty does not withdraw his resolution as recommended by fellow councilors, then the Council will discuss the measure tomorrow night.
