Canadian Prime Minister Affirms Opposition to LNG Vessels Transiting Head Harbour
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper affirmed his opposition on Tuesday to the use of Canadian waters to support LNG projects proposed for the U.S.-side of Passamaquoddy Bay. During Tuesday’s Question Period in the House of Commons, Harper said he opposed the transit of LNG tankers through Head Harbour and expressed his belief that the waters of Passamaquoddy Bay are within Canada’s jurisdiction.
