More Details on Gazprom’s U.S.-based Subsidiary

Today’s NGI Daily Gas Price Index offers additional details on Gazprom’s newly formed U.S. subsidiary, Gazprom Marketing and Trading USA Inc.  GMT’s managing director, John Hattenberger, reports that Gazprom decided to build a U.S. marketing operation at the wholesale level in order to create a brand image for Gazprom in the United States, gain U.S. market insight, and capture greater profits from the company’s LNG. Hattenberger also says that Gazprom hopes to secure terminal capacity in the U.S. Northeast and in the Gulf region. [Subscription required]
