Gazprom Forms U.S. Subsidiary to Market LNG

Russia’s state-owned Gazprom has announced the creation of a Houston-based subsidiary, Gazprom Marketing and Trading USA; the subsidiary will oversee the development of LNG and natural gas initiatives in the United States, including plans to market supply from the Shtokman natural gas reserves. The Kommersant Daily reports on the development of the new company, and indicates that Gazprom envisions both wholesale and direct delivery contracts.
