BP Calls for Dismissal of Delaware’s Request for Rehearing
In a motion filed Aug. 4, BP requested that FERC reject the request for rehearing filed by the state of Delaware and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) of the federal agency’s decision to approve the Crown Landing LNG terminal proposed for Logan Township, N.J. In a July 20 request, Delaware and DNREC said that FERC did not consider certain issues such as the terminal’s potential impact on public safety and the disposal of dredge material when it evaluated the project. According to project spokesperson Tom Mueller, the company addressed all pertinent matters and Delaware did not present any new concerns in its request. FERC spokesperson Bryan Lee said the agency will consider both requests before taking action. The filings may be found in the FERC e-Library in Docket No. CP04-411. Local coverage of the development may be found in yesterday’s edition of The Gloucester County Times.
