Weaver’s Cove, Fall River Comment on Rhode Island Fuel Facility Fire
Commenting on the lightning strike at the gasoline storage facility in Providence, Rhode Island, James Grasso, a spokesman for Weaver’s Cove LNG which has proposed an LNG receiving terminal in nearby Fall River, Mass., emphasized the differences between LNG and other fuels such as gasoline. “LNG does not explode because it is not mixed with oxygen,” Grasso clarified. Fall River Mayor Edward Lambert highlighted the Rhode Island gasoline explosion incident as “just another reason … why these facilities should be kept out of highly populated areas.” See more of their comments in the The Herald News.
