Total Reaches Agreement for Qatari LNG
Total has entered a 25-year deal to purchase 5.2 mt/yr of LNG from the Qatargas 2 liquefaction projectand an approximately 16% ownership interest in one of the liquefaction trains.According to Friday’s Platts LNG Daily, much of the supply may be destined for terminals where Total owns capacity, such as Mexico’s Altamira LNG terminal and the proposed Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana. Total spokesperson Patricia Marie said that regasification terminals in France and the United Kingdom also could receive LNG under the agreement. [Subscription required]
