Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee Supports FERC Efforts on LNG

The Senate Subcommittee on Energy and Water Appropriations has expressed support for FERC’s “thoughtful and balanced” efforts in approving LNG development projects in the face of community and political opposition. “While the FERC is often criticized by members of Congress about specific local decisions it makes with respect to natural gas infrastructure, few express support for the overall success the commission has achieved in ensuring the timely development of these critical energy facilities,” the Senate appropriators said in an energy and water spending bill approved on June 29. Greenwire has the story.
