New Route Proposed for Pipeline Associated with Jordan Cove
Port Commissioners and residents of Coos Bay, Ore., met with Williams Northwest Pipeline on Thursday night, July 20, to discuss the proposed pipeline associated with the Jordan Cove LNG terminal. Saturday’s The World reports on the meeting at which Williams announced a rerouting of its planned pipeline to avoid a residential area in Glasgow, Ore. The alternative would route the pipeline under the bay’s mudflats and is the result of concerns expressed by citizens; Lisa Grudzinski of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers noted that any “impact to waters must be minimized to the maximum extent.” Additional coverage of the meeting is also available here.
