USCG and MARAD Issue DEIS for Neptune LNG Project
The U.S. Coast Guard and Maritime Administration have issued the draft environmental impact statement for Suez’s Neptune LNG Deepwater Port to be located 22 miles northeast of Boston. The agencies identified the proposed Northeast Gateway Port and AES Battery Rock LNG projects as reasonably foreseeable actions considered when evaluating cumulative impacts. The DEIS also reports that environmental impacts could be reduced by constructing a single pipeline to connect both the Neptune project and the Northeast Gateway project to the existing Algonquin HubLine. The DEIS is available in the Docket Management Systemin Docket No. USCG-2005-22611.
